The Worst Hotel Bath Mat
I recently stayed at the London Heathrow Comfort Hotel. I paid around $100 for a one night stay. Usually, hotels leave a cotton bath mat in the bathroom. Okay, most of the time they’re thin, but I understand the hotel is trying to save water and a thin bath mat is probably easier to wash than a thick one. But this is the first time I have ever been given a paper bath mat. What a waste of paper! When I stepped on the paper bath mat, I could feel the cold floor. Maybe this was a joke?

An Owl in the Trees
I knew there was an owl in the area by the sounds I heard above me. This owl was perched on a branch about 100 feet from the ground.

Yosemite Ahwahnee Hotel
The Ahwahnee hotel is a luxury hotel located in the Yosemite valley. Most of the ground floor is open to the public. I was caught in a thunderstorm during a walk from Yosemite Falls to Mirror Lake and stopped for shelter at the Awahnee. This photograph is the dining room entrance.
